• You'll start your Bordeaux wine day with a visit to Château Marquis de Vauban, located 300m from the Citadelle de Blaye on the banks of the Gironde Estuary. The château is a magnificent 17th-century building bordering the estuary, with its cellars and vineyards. The existence of 38 different appellations within the vineyard is explained by the diversity of terroirs, i.e. soil types, grape varieties grown, cultivation and vinification practices.
• Following the tour, you'll be offered a wine tasting before continuing with the winemaker's meal, a local menu featuring the famous coq au vin in an old chateau cellar.
• Then board the little train for a guided tour of Blaye's history and heritage. It takes you to the citadel, Plassac, the Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux vineyards and the Gironde estuary.
• The afternoon continues with a guided walking tour of old Bordeaux, where you can marvel at the monuments of this magnificent city, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an Outstanding Urban Ensemble.
